The Women and Diversity in Leadership Neurosurgery course aims to empower and advance the careers of women and underrepresented groups within the field of neurosurgery. Through a series of presentation, and discussions, the course addresses barriers to leadership, promotes diversity and inclusion strategies, and highlights the contributions of diverse leaders to neurosurgery's evolution and success.

Learning Objectives:

  • Promote Gender Equality and Diversity: To actively promote gender equality and diversity within neurosurgery leadership by identifying barriers to entry and advancement for women and underrepresented groups, and developing strategies to overcome these obstacles
  • Enhance Leadership Opportunities: To create and enhance leadership opportunities for women and diverse individuals in neurosurgery through mentorship programs, networking events, and professional development workshops aimed at building skills and confidence in leadership roles.
  • Foster an Inclusive Culture: To foster an inclusive culture within the neurosurgery community that values and respects diversity, encourages open dialogue about issues related to gender and diversity in leadership, and recognizes the contributions of women and diverse leaders to the field of neurosurgery.
